Default Tri Glide Ape Hangers

Has anyone put Ape Hangers on their Tri Glide or talked to anyone that has? Just wondering if it makes it easier to steer? I ordered some chrome Mayhem 16" to trick out the look a bit, hope they are comfortable!

I could see wider bars making it a bit easier to steer, but taller, probably not.

Talking

Don't know what brand they were, but they are 16" and it is unbelievable how easy the steering got. Very comfortable, hands are just below my shoulders.
Don't ask me why I'm not smiling!! Probably getting ready to rain and couldn't ride..

IF and WHEN I get a Tri-Glide I think these will be one of the first upgrades.

I did not get close to ape hangers, but I just added HD Tallboy bars and I believe the steering is much easier just from those height bars. Just in case anyone was wondering about the effect of bars a little shorter than 16".

I put 12" LA Chopper Twin Peaks on mine and they are great. They do make the steering easier.

Just remember when you go above 10" apes you will have to get extensions for the wiring and brake/clutch hoses.

I think Wider with just a little taller would be helpful.

Or power steering.....

I have 9"+ bars on my TG and it made the steering easier for two reason-

1. They are wider, so I have more leverage

2. They are pulled back, making the geometry (for my bad shoulder) better

Another thing you can do for the looks AND for easier steering is add a Convertible Comfort Lift.

Pic of my '14 TG with the 9"+ bars-
