You can do a pretty quick check by using this method.

Just completed my rear alignment, 2009 103 Trike. You can count on about 4 hours. Lateral alignment has to be done first. Remove chrome cap covers from rear fork on both sides. measure from end of nut under cap to a straight edge (level works well) to across the flat of the rear axle. Max allowable difference is 1.5 mm.
To adjust lateral: Remove rear wheels. Loosen 8 Allen bolts from fork to rear axle (you will notice they are slotted and face forward). To move entire housing left or right, use block of wood so not to damage end of axle and 5 pound sledge until you get within tolerance of 1.5 mm as the axle may not move easily. Do a couple of hits at a time. This is time consuming but is a must.
One completed: remove each of the Allen bolts one at a time and reapply blue Loctite and torque to spec.
Belt adjustment: Jack up your trike and make sure it is sturdy and take all precautions for safety. Check where the belt rides in the rear pulley, should be close to center at 10 pounds and approx. 1/2" deflection in center of drive and driven pulleys (even teeth showing on both sides on rear pulley). loosen 8 bolts which allow belt adjustment (4 on each side)If you have the 10 pound adjustment completed but not riding in center, then add 1/2 turn on one side adjuster(long threaded rod, 9/16 wrench and subtract equal amount on opposite side. After each adjustment, start trike and let clutch out in first gear for a few revolutions to center drive belt ( make sure there is 2 bolts holding each rear brake rotor in place and snug). Continue this process until equal distance of space on either side of drive belt on rear pulley. Remove each bolt one at a time and apply Loctite and torque to spec.
Patience is a virtue. I have been a licenced mechanic in Ontario for over 30 years, the manufactures manual, although says to use special tools, there is always another way. Take your time and it will work out exactly as the book says. Hope this helps.
