A lot of rear lift kits ?
My wife just got a 16 Freewheeler. So far she is doing well and I have 100 miles on it solo, a lot more fun to drive then I expected. Will be her primary ride. I have a 14 King but with bad knees I can see me with one someday soon. Now I see a lot of you get the rear lift kit. I'm assuming the rear can bottom out at times. Is this because of 2 up riding or will it do it riding solo ? I'm 200 lbs at my heaviest. Do they help in some way for handling ? I know the Freewheeler is lighter, so are they as impotent on them ?
Thanks for any advice. |
I put a rear lift kit on both TriGlides I owned. Better ride, better handling.

Lift kit on '13 Tri-Glide...better handling, no bottom-out.

Thanks for any advice. Levels out the trike, less likely to drag tail pipes going in driveways, etc. Handles better- easier steering Helps rear shocks absorb bumps better You can read details and see some photo's HERE. The technical info on How it helps it handle better can be seen at this LINK. |
Thanks for the advice..DK in the link you gave me it said the longer the trail the more stable the ride. To me it looks like if I raze the rear the trail will decrees, so wouln't that make it more unstable ? Em I reading this incorrectly ? Thanks.

The very small reduction in trail with the Comfort Lift™, makes for a little easier steering, but not enough reduction to have any noticeable reduction in stability. |
Lift kit
I put one of DK'S on my FW and it works great. Really made a difference. I need to save some shickles and replace the air shocks next.

The HD Trikes are sluggish in their steering, which is most noticed in how difficult it is to turn the handlebars, especially at lower speeds...but also at speed in a curve.
