That is correct, Geary. Site software doesn't allow editing posts anymore so I just left my post, as is. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get the HHI trees from and who did the installation?

“The steering head comes set at 26-degrees, and a 6-degree offset gives the forks a 32-degree rake with 3.94 inches of trail. This pushes the wheelbase out to 65.7-inches long, which is still reasonably compact and only a few inches longer than Harley’s two-wheel tourbikes.”

Edit: IMHO...I find it hard to believe that 3 more degrees of rake would make a very large reduction in steering effort.

Increasing rake does the opposite. It's the reduction in trail that will decrease steering effort. Longer trail increases directional stability. Shorter trail makes a bike a lot more reactive but easier to steer. What H-D was looking for was a way to create an easy-to-steer machine without having to tool up for a different neck/frame rake angle. (Cost savings) So, they left the rake alone and cut the trail to increase ease of handling, but in the course of doing so they ended up with a little more twitchiness, in terms of directional stability. They added the steering damper to offset that.

Purchased from Randy at Cut and Shoot Customs.. Did the install myself.. Affter doing one, would be easy.. the first one.. not so.. Ended up taking the Forks to the dealer and having their tech put back together for me, didn't have enough strength to push spring back and screw at same time. When I was done, took back and had the dealer safety check. I had created bubbles in the hydraulics when relocating them. If I knew how, prob could have done myself, but wanted to be perfectly safe for wife and I. The difference is major. Especially when backing up, need to re-learn. Estimated time 8 hours. Way too many screws removed that wern't necessary. If you decide to tackle, email me for all the pit falls

Kit installed was 9 degree, which added 6, not 3...
