Just thinking out loud
If I was to convert my 2016 RGU to a Tri Glide, what years will fit my bike. I would guess I need from my swing arm mounts back.
I've looked at a lot of different kits and their to much money. So I was thinking of a wrecked Tri Glide with front end damage to keep
the cost down. Would I be limited to just the Rushmore's?

i' am thinking that any front end collision would possibly tweak the frame section of the trike and cause additional frustration and repair... to answer the first question...probably any frame only from wrecked trike would fit another...but Insuring it might also be a hassle....just my thoughts

Just found out from my dealer mechanic that no back section from any Tri glide will not bold on. It seems Harley trikes have their own back section of frame where your swing arm would be.
He said I would need a master fabricator to make it fit and recommended against doing this swap.
So for now, I will just ride my bike as is and maybe down the road buy a Tri Glide or use a kit by Roadsmith.
Thank you for the info.

I don't see how they can say that the TriGlide back end wouldn't fit your Road Glide. In '09 Harley changed the frame on all touring bikes in that the rear section is now bolted to the front portion of the frame, because that is the year that harley started making the TriGlide. If you take off your seat you can see where it is bolted together. You would need to buy the triple trees for the front forks.
However, for cost it may be cheaper to get a kit from one of the after market companies. If you look at DFT (I think that is name of one of the companies) they have a kit that I think really compliments the Road Glide, it has a rounded rear end that looks great with the front of your bike. Just my honest opinion.
