Cool Loose nuts

I have a 2010 Tri-glide Ultra. The bolts that attach the bracket that runs from the frame to the top of the engine block have started to constantly come loose. One of the bolts has snapped off 2X and the other continues to come loose. I have recently replaced the bolts and added lock washers. These 2 bolts came loose, again after a short 50 mile ride. Not sure if this is some type of vibration issue of another problem. I am looking for suggestions to correct these issues. I am hearing engine mounts need to be replaced, however there does not appear to be any leaning evidence of this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

motor mounts worn or loose. Part of the regular maintenance is checking torque, have you done that recently?

I've read on this site that you need to use grade 8 bolts that are threaded completely down to the head of the bolt. Red Loctite on the ones that go in to the heads. Crappy design is the problem.

I think I would start with the motor mounts. If you do not have a manual,go on-line and see what the specs are when mounts replaced. This is a very critical adjustment from engine to mount holes. Your bolt problem is a definite symptom of engine to frame fitment. You might have too bite the bullet and take it to a dealer.

Welcome aboard! I would take it to a dealer or an indy. There are reported issues with these bolts, but yours sounds like it might be happening to often. Might be more to your problem. Good luck.

................that happened with my 09 ....about a year or so into it.....the bolts came out.....and often loosened up...

....while in lubbock tex i took it into the H.D. dealer there....they did warranty work to fix it....

.....apparentely the threads in the head were stripped.....they had no new head in stock...

....so they did a procedure with a product called LINESERT.....worked like a charm...

....no more problems...........good luck.
