That is true. I looked at a '15 like mine at the dealer and they were asking 26K for it. It had more miles and fewer dealer addons than mine, as well as the aftermarket ones I have done. I didn't ask for a trade quote though because I can't see buying a new one when I have mine set up the way I want it. It's almost paid for too. According to them, they can't keep new or used trikes in stock more than a couple of weeks.

Here is an accurate representation of what banks and dealers use with regard to prices. Your area may be a little different; however, I have found the prices pretty close when negotiating deals on motorcycles.

Cylinders:2

VIN:5HD1MAM1C

Clean Trade:$14,800

Fair Trade:$13,215

...saw your ad on the forum for sale bikes and gave you a bump(but you were already at the top anyways, so I guess it was a wasted bump LOL). Even at $17.5K which is a killer price, I think you did well especially for using your trike 43,000mi. I rented a trike down at the Tail of the Dragon in early Sept '16 and did 421 miles in two days. Rental cost $421, so it was a buck a mile. You got, to me anyways $43,000 worth of riding!!!(+ memories & experiences). I got lucky I sold my '16 Billet Silver trike for $26K. Had 5562mi on it and actually "a friend of a friend" bought it. How many times does that actually work out? I did buy it in Sept of '16 with $3K off, so I got it for $33K initially. Yeah, maybe I could've got $28K if I'd waited, but then again maybe not. I did have it listed on CycleTrader too, but look how many trikes are on there for sale nationally. Lots & lots!!! I wouldn't go below $17.5K if you don't have to, you have a great price right there!!! So, if I take $33K minus 5562(buck a mile)comes out to $27438. I got $26K and in this market I felt I did OK. There's '16s on CycleTrader with more miles than mine had for $28K-$32K!!! Having it listed for whatever you want and actually signing the back of the title are two different things. Rumble On offered me $20K. I said no thanks, I'll keep it in the corner of the garage for that. I think yours will sell at $17.5, exposure is the key and it's why dealers sell stuff. They get so many people in there viewing their inventory, all it takes is that one soul that falls in love with whatever bike they're looking at buys it. Good luck, hang in there. Like I said, at your price, I'm very, very sure yours will sell.

When 7 out of 10 Americans have less than $1,000 dollars in savings, you will find it difficult to sell your bike.

Dealers have the advantage of getting loans for people.

True enough but the population of folks that are primarily buying Tri Glides are mostly retired with fixed incomes and bank accounts with or without available discretionary play money. If the retiree has discretionary play money which many folks who buy Tri Glides do, then tax consequences are significantly less important. Here in Florida, a dealer I traded my 2017 TGU to for my 2019 TGU has several salesman with notebooks filled with names of people that were looking for used Tri Glides in all the various price points. My trade in was sold the day it was taken in and hadn't even made it to the showroom before being sold. The selling person advised that he had at least a half a dozen people poised to write checks for a clean Tri Glide at retail prices which is pretty unusual for most of Harley's used models these days.

....I must live in a different part of the country or whatever, but that statement to me is almost unbelievable, at least to me, and I'm just a retired folk. Maybe it's true, but 7 out of 10 people I know are millionaires. Couple of them "multi-multi ones."
