Default Question on oil level

Have a question about oil level on my 2015 Freewheeler. When I change oil I add enough oil to bring it to the midway mark, then I ride it till it warms to 230 degrees in the oil tank measured by a JES thermometer (one of the best IMO) After it has warmed up I check the level after idling for two minutes and it is still at the midway mark. Then I fill it to the full mark and ride again to make sure it is hot enough. I then let it sit overnight. When I check it the next morning it still reads at the full level still. If I leave it as is I get blow by and it goes down in level quite quickly to the midway mark then after about 700 t0 1000 miles it is down to the add one quart. What am I doing wrong?
PS
I have mighty mite love jugs, DK tank lift and cooling wings, and cannon slip on mufflers

Over filling it. Leave it at the mid-point between full and add.

Besides way over thinking It? Way over filling it...change it , warm it up , check it, add to halfway, ride.

I also have a 2015 freewheeler. Mine is very happy at the midway mark.

Some more information on oil levels here:

My 2019 Tri-Glide is happy at the cold fill point as shown in the owners manual. I leave it there after an oil change, if I check it cold and it is down, I add some, only have 5,000 miles on her so I expect it is still getting broke in.

Straight from the HD owners manual-

"The correct oil level should register midway between the FULL and ADD marks on the dipstick.

If oil level is at or below the ADD mark, add only enough oil to bring the level to the middle of the two marks on the dipstick."

There is a full article on the subject here- http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/acl/...of-my-bike.htm

Over-filled.....geesh, this has been discussed for years! Filling to the top mark with result in "blow-back" thru the air cleaner and all over the right side of bike!

3 quarts, 12 ozs. brings mine 4ozs. below the full mark. After riding it's right at the full mark. No problems.
