I have a 2015 freewheeler. My wife and I live in Vernon BC. We have been to Nashville on it twice, New Orleans once. Sturgis every year. We have no problem with storage and my wife takes enough clothes to change daily LOL of course we don't camp because that would take up too much space with the tent and all the sleeping stuff When I go by myself I camp and have no problem with space. The trike is completely stock except for street cannon slip ons. The wife has no complaints about the stock seat and we average 600 Km (about 350 miles a day) I had a 2010 tri glide before the freewheeler. The freewheeler handles a way better and uses less gas. I usually go 10 over the speed limit. Yhe motor gets quite hot but it is air cooled and has a lot of wind resistance so I think its a little hotter than a two wheeler.

 

Personally I’d go with the TG, I like the radio, CB, XM radio, navigation, tour pac but you have an Ultra so you know all this.
can you tour on a FW? Sure...but I like my creature comforts....plus if something happens and you need to sell, I like the TG will sell quicker...just my opinion

we also have a Bushtec trailer we pull For longer trips.

 

We bought our new Freewheeler last June and have almost 4000 miles on it.Great Trike. I put a Sundowner seat on it and usually do 150 rides for a day ride. Did a 5 day 900 mile Finger Lakes tour last Fall and it was a blast to ride.I put a set of SAC Backrest bags on it and had a lot of room to spare for the week.After riding the Triglide and Freewheeler at the dealers, decided that while the Triglide has more room its definitely bigger and more cumbersome compared to the Freewheeler.The Freewheeler is like riding a corvette compared to a big Caddy. Heading up to the Adirondacks for a week in the Fall and can't wait.To each his own but a Freewheeler can be a great touring bike if you can live without the big fairing, radios, big seats.

 

Unless your passenger is a little person the freewheeler needs a passenger backrest that goes back further to give the passenger more room..

 

I fully plan on touring with mine. I had to give up 2 wheels due to a medical condition. every year I do 9 days going somewhere motorcycle camping. I have no intention of stopping now. I'm not a fan of the tri Glide. Bike I just had to get rid of was a 16 RGS. I have 2400 miles on my 19 in a month. Did 600 miles in one day. Just as comfortable as my 16. And actually a bit smoother ride on the car tires. I'll be adding the rack to the trunk to put a tour bag on it. Super happy with my decision to go with the FW.
