She asked if there was some sort of storage for the passenger. Is there anything cheaper than this?

Don, if she won't fit in your tourpack I suggest she either diet or get her own motorcycle.

I have a set of these on my 13. They are small and very expensive. Wife rarely uses them. They are handy however. Good for snacks, drinks, cell phone...and I don't have to worry about scratches on that part of the fenders.
