SE 255 is what I put in my wife's. Huge difference on take off and bottom end torque.

Default Se 255

1plumr1,

hello, wondering what that 255 does at cruising speeds, raise or lower the RPMs?

Given the inaccuracy of the HD tach and spacing on the face, that's a tough one to answer. Not been on a dyno. I only rode it a couple times after the install, really didn't notice a difference at hwy speed as far as rpm, maybe 1-2 hundred. The wife says she doesn't notice any difference, go figure.

I just purchased a Wood TW6-6 Cam for my ’09 TG and plan on installing it next week. Hopefully I’ll have some positive performance results to report at that time!

After much comparison to other cams and long deliberation, I finally decided on the TW6-6 because of:
v Impressive low end torque
v Impressive performance graph when compared to the stock cam
v Bolt in with no head work required
v Reuse stock springs
v Detonation concerns with other cams because I only have 91 octane in my area

With any luck all of my homework will pay off and I will be impressed with the results!

I don't think cams will make any difference.

if you are going with new cams, you may as well get rid of the chain tensioners and put in a gear drive kit, too. Less maintenance than the chains. i went with an S&S gear drive kit on my ride.

regarding cams, the type of performance you are looking for will dictate which cam you choose. if you want high speed touring and passing power, the choice will be different than if you were looking for off the line power and low end grunt. Jimer made an excellent choice with his Woods cams. me? i installed Andrews H55 cams. The power difference is huge. When i put in the power commander and dialed it in, the performance improved even more. good luck with whatever you choose.

There is nothing wrong with the new set up HD came out with for chain tensioners IMHO. I haven't heard any negative reports on them.
