Default Lift Plates and Panhard

First off thanks again to Jerry and Dennis for these lift plates.

I did a box off install on the plates so I could check a couple of other specs. Start to finish was around 3 1/2 hrs. for everything
After removing the box I checked the Panhard adj. per the HD Service Manual. Im not going to get into the procedure because if you do this you need the manual and its all in there. The adj. was off. I turned the lower ball of the panhard in 1 1/2 turns to get it right. I then checked the lateral adj. and belt tracking , again the procedure is in the book, they were good so I then installed the new plates. Once one side was lined up the other side was also.
After the new plates were on I went thru the panhard adj. again. I didnt need to readjust the panhard as it was right on, so adding the lifts has no effect on the panhard adj.
I gained 1" hgt. with the new plates. I had no lean befor the install and none after.

Default Lift

Great to hear on the panhard bar. I didn't think lifting would make a difference but always nice to know for sure. Thanks for checking it out. Thanks, Jerry

Good news on no effect to pan hard bar.
I guess I need to get manual and check mine at some point.
Again, thanks for your work and input.

Default Lift Plates

Hello Brothers,
So I have an 09 Trike....it seems to ride ok, it bottomed out once going over a curb but that was my fault, too anxious to ride!
I really like the idea of the 1 1/2" plates to raise up the back but I was reading your post and was wondering about the "ride" quality and the higher center of gravity? Have you noticed any change when you turn her fast? and everything like the belt and panhard is ok with this added adjustment.....just making sure before I order a couple plates.
thanks again,
diesel

I have only a few miles on since i installed the plates as the weather here has been bad. I didnt notice any problems but others that have them and many more miles on say the ride and handeling is just fine. Check some of the other threads for more comments on this.

I only have a few hundred miles on lift plates. I have noticed no change in quality of ride, only the quality of looks, which it looks a 100% better sitting more level.
Jerry, who came up with this has thousands of miles on his since last year and reports no ill effects, but he can speak for himself.

thanks Dennis, I sent you an email. It looks like the 1 1/4" will be fine.

It does look a lot better and more even. The rear end sags a little stock and your plates will work out great.

Diesel, you really need to get a service manual, if you do your own wrenching its more than worth the cost.
