Default ethanol free gas

So the Wawa near me has non-ethanol fuel. I was going to try it out but all they have is 87 octane. I have been running but 92 for the past year and was not sure if it would be a problem to use the lower octane.

Anyone have any experience with this? Maybe I will just try it out and see how she runs.

I run mostly 87 non ethanol and have had no problems. I also once in a while i use a bit of seafoam to keep the f.i. clean.

Works for me.

Faced with a choice between E10 and 87, I'd pick the 87. Lots of riders seem to run 87 with no knocking or pinging issues. If need be, its easy to touch up the octane with an additive like SeaFoam.

Just my $0.02

I run the Wawa and Racetrac 87 here in FL. Every now and then I have to put in the ethanol stuff and then I put in the high test. No issues in my Fat Bob so far.

Unless you have a heavily modified engine and tune, the bike will run just fine on 87 octane. I can do the same with my Corvette if need be. I simply cannot stand on it so to speak.

You can't always hear the pinging that is eating a hole in the top of your pistons. I don't think Harley Davidson recommends 92 octane just because they like the number 92. I have used 87 once or twice in back road Utah where that was all that was available, but I don't use it normally. Fortunately, here in over regulated California Ethanol doesn't meet the strict pollution rules so it is mostly unavailable. Unfortunately premium gasoline is still running around $3.00 a gallon. Oh Well, an $18.00 fill-up is worth the riding fun

Living here in Florida, and this is just me, I will always use top tier 93 octane. But would not use 87 non ethanol, not because there is a problem with it, just want the higher octane for piece of mind.

I am fully aware that higher octane is mainly for high compression. But at times the high octane does use better additives.

But I do from time to time find 93 NON ETHANOL at Co ops, in which case I will use that.

You could have my issue ............ The Z06 has an 18 gallon tank ............... $54 ............... I just deal with it and go on my way.

that's strange most Wa-Wa's has 89 octane non-ethanol that I've been too, might want to double check.
if that helps.
