Default Why no ABS on Tri Glides?

Is there any reason why Harley does not put ABS brakes on the tri glides? I am looking at trading my Limited on one and would had to get a 2014 and have the ABS come out in 2015.

Revisit the 2014 it does have single action ABS when at certain speeds. I do not have all the detail, but know that was one of the highlighted improvements of the 14MY. It will actuate both front and back brakes with one actuation. I believe goes back to normal operation under 25 mph?
A dealer could explain much better than I as I do not have one.

The 14 TG's have linked brakes, but no ABS. I think the reason HD did not do the ABS on the TG's is because the main reason they did it on the 2 wheel bikes is to prevent locks up that result in the bike falling over. Since that is not an issue with the TG's, why add even more cost to an already crazy high price?

Cost would be my guess or maybe the rear end is not set up for them , but could be made , but with the linked brakes they really work good

Thanks for clarifying Kevin, I was under the impression the linked brakes were ABS as well. Now I understand what they really do.

I'll tell ya, I can snap the 2011 TG down to a stop in an amazingly short distance. I rode a '14 with the intelocked brakes and didn't like it. Not that there's anything wrong with the '14 brakes, but being a very long time rider, I'm just used to manipulating my front/rear brakes the way I see fit.

I've always been very comfortable with panic stops on two wheelers... For whatever reason it just all came very natural to me. The TG behaves like a two wheeler inasmuch as you can tie it down and stop it PDQ if you do it right. I don't see the need (and as Kevin points out the expense!) for ABS.

Who needs ABS on a trike. You couldn't lock up the rear brakes if you tried.

Jim, I have the EBC HH pads on the rear of my trike & I can now lock up the rear. Both wheels.
I couldn't with the stock pads, but with the cast iron rotors & EBC pads you have to get after it, but they will lock.
I found out about three weeks ago when a cage did a cute number in front of me & I locked all three wheels.
