Likewise I will say, from experience; be careful when moving it around by hand; it ain't fun when a back tire rolls over your foot.

All of the above, if you carry a passenger the removable sissy bar/ backrest is a must. Its a great ride once you're used to it, congrats and ride safe!

It's a "Push" - "Pull" toy, push with one hand, pull with the other and the trike will follow :>)

Bikes home.

Thanks to all that replied. Had a great ride home last nite. Bike was a little strange at first but a few miles down the road, all was good. I remembered 3 things, ride in center of road, no need to learn and lastly DONT PUT YOUR FEET DOWN!!

Oh yeah, Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up. Been pretty good about heeding that rule. Now have master the gas station and not getting to close to the pump island.

And get a lift kit for the rear. The steering will improve a bunch......

Hello. I just bought a new 2017 Freewheeler trike. I have ridden Harleys for 35 years and have never been on a trike, no less driven or owned one. My dealer STANS HD in Batavia NY was a GREAT dealer to do business with. Their entire Staff were the freiendlist group I have ever encountered at a Dealership. Be fore I can get the bike I have to spend some time in their parking lot trying to get used to it. Anyone who may offer me some tips on starting out on a trike would be greatly appreciated. I don't see to many threads on these Freewheelers but all the dealers I contacted didn't have anymore in their showroom. Any things to look out for on these models?I also have looked for some Clubs that have some trike owners but mostly 2 wheeler clubs. Thanks in advance for any replies. Pete

I've got about 15k on my 17 now, it's not a motorcycle ride but it given me the confidence to do solo cross country rides that I had given up on after I turned 65. Lot of great ideas have been shared and you'll quickly learn your own. Hitting potholes with both back tires at higher speeds can bounce you out of your seat especially when using highway pegs which I always do. Once you get the feel it's time to get a seat and handle combo that really works for you. I also found you can really really cut down on the air turbulence you feel at higher speeds (even with a windshield) by installing front fork wind deflectors. I just installed the JEScustom front fork wind deflectors on my 2017 Freewheeler and they fit great. They really reduced the wind turbulence and also seem to help with the front end stability at speeds over 70 (extra down force I guess). Highly recommend. Night and day difference! Also like the switch blade highway pegs that provide a pull down heel rest. You will notice a lot more leverage for hard fast turn when you feet are up on the highway pegs... good feeling. If you're riding two up get the biggest back rest you can, I actually go the ones that are curved with short arms, gives that passenger a better sense of security and is great for holding in luggage bags as well ... I never put it on unless I need to. All depends on your own style of riding and I did a lot of looking and reach to find what worked for me... many of these are NOT harley parts. Put on CFR slip-ons too, real deep sound, repressive, but I can still hear my head set just fine. Rear heat deflectors make it much nicker for passenger's lower legs.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...6fd9d26124.jpg

12 inch ape bars gave me a more comfortable ride.
