Garmin Zumo 595 and Ride Planner

I like to use RidePlanner to plan rides and the download the GPX file into my Garmin 5895 when I can but I can not figure out a way to delete waypoints the program inserts into the route. I want to delete them while in RidePlanner but can not do it. Looking at old posts, I can not locate that infor listed anywhere in the forum using my GPS unit. ALl the posts close to what I want, deal with other GPS's.

I have found that when making the ride in ride planner that if you don’t zoom in on the route it adds the waypoints on its own. Don’t know if that is your issue or not but helps me

Sounds like your issue is not with your GPS it’s the HD Ride Planner.
I have found that to resolve this issue for Zumo or BoomBox! I must get the route exactly as I want it. To make sure of this you need to preview it. If you see circles u-turns, etc. Zoom in very close and move your waypoint to the correct position “on” the road. Once you have the route down without errors then you can click on the waypoints you do not need and delete them. Ride planner gives the option when you are in “edit” mode.
When this is done. Download should be no problem.

Good luck. It is an education! BTW no harm in going back to Garmin Basecamp to plan rides for Zumo as they are built to work seemlessly.

It is really pretty easy to delete waypoints in ride planner (if you are using a 3 button mouse).
Edit your route. The waypoints show up as orange dots. Right click on an orange dot to reveal an object menu and the rest is pretty seal-explanatory.
I don't know how it would work on a single mouse button Apple Mac. (Do Apple computers still have a single mouse button?)
