Looking at getting a Triglide

Just test rode a 2023 Triglide and was really disappointed on how rough of a ride it was. You can feel all the bumps on a rough patch of road.

its a straight axle rear end. there are companies that make conversion kits with independent rear suspension that will ride nicer. California Side Car is one of them.

The stock shocks are pretty bad. There are aftermarket options that make a BIG difference. Check out DK Customs. Here

Lowering the air pressure in the rear tires has a effect in how they ride also.

Yes.
The "book" tire pressure is 26 psi for the rears but 22 is much better.

I also keep the rear tire pressure at 22 psi.

Tri

I tried to get used to the trike, Twice, two different bikes. Did the lift kit, waste of money. Did the shocks, another waste of money. ALL rode like mack trucks. Back on two wheels. Good luck in your decision.

A trike will NEVER ride like a bike. Ever.

Sure, independent axles on conversions will definitely make the ride better, like @FLASH1970 said. As will aftermarket shocks, like @sstan said. Lift kit mostly impacts steering (oddly enough). Lower tire pressures also make a positive difference, as @heavymetalthunder , @davekp , and @470004 said.

I'd love to be back on two, but my back and legs say otherwise. I'm happy with my TG (DK lift & shocks, and lower tire pressures).

There have been some good tips passed along here. The only thing that I would add is that I adjusted my stock shocks to the lowest setting, and give it riding time before you start modifying it. Ride it like you stole it and then “make it yours” with what ever mods that make you happy.

The ONLY thing you gain in going from a two-wheeled bike to a trike is stability.

You lose ride comfort, speed, handling, good gas mileage, etc., etc., etc,

A lift kit and new adjustable shocks from DK along with lowering your rear tire pressure down to 20-22 lbs. does make a difference in the ride but adding that extra wheel does increase the chances of hitting more potholes.
