Default FP3 factory reset/replace slot 0

The facts:
  1. I have a 2008 Street Glide. It originally came with the 96CI engine, to which I had the FP3 connected to. Slot 0 is loaded with the factory tune (technically stage 1) that was on the bike when I connected the FP3 originally.
  2. I have since had the bike upgraded to a stage II 103. All work completed by my HD dealer. They were unable to use the FP3 for tuning, as their tech uses Power Vision and that's the equipment they have.
I would like to keep the FP3 connected, and be able to modify the map they tuned when they did the full installation of kit and dyno runs (mostly, I want to adjust the throttle sensitivity). Here is my dilemma, I want no way to accidentally reinstall the tune from slot 0, which has the wrong cam/displacement/literally everything. I know that Vance & Hines does not allow you to move the tuner to a new bike, but I want a way to perform a factory reset within the same VIN.

Can I reset the FP3 so it's connecting to the bike for the first time and slot 0 will be loaded with the current tune (for the 103)? I would like to erase all the information from the tune of the 96.

Side note: I have reached out to tech support through the website and have received no follow up.

Send your current tune to V&H through the FP3 app and a email telling them what you want to do. When they send the map back you can assign a empty slot for your tune.

I still haven't gotten an answer on this. I have emailed your tech support and posted here. It would be nice to hear something...

5280Ruffian,

The only way to achieve what you're looking to do, would be with a new FP3. Unfortunately the 0 Slot is essentially locked in stone from a firmware perspective, so I wouldn't have the ability to clear it out for the new map. That being said, we could have you plug in your FP3, navigate to the Customer Support menu, select Vance and Hines support, and press the Upload ECU Content button. This would allow us to have the PV created map on the server, and we could then send it back to you to be saved to a map slot through a CSR download process, after you've already cleared out all of the other maps. When you're ready and you've finished the aforementioned procedure, send me an email at FPPro@VanceandHines.com along with the last 6 of your VIN, and we'll get everything set up for your new motor build.

Thank you for getting back with me, I do appreciate it. I will have to take this approach. I will let you know when I have the map uploaded.
