How about a less expensive throwover version?

@ the leather pros so what's the HD forum discount? Currently your bags cost more than the Other replica bags that can be bought at my local HD for 559 let me know I like yours better.

Sorry, but we don't have a forum discount anymore. There is a reason why there is a two week wait for our made in the USA bags and the dealers are trying to dump the other imported bags at a lower price.

Default Just finished installing my retro bags...

I spoke with Garry on the phone before ordering and he was really helpful in outlining what's required to knock out the installation. At first, viewing the youtube video and reviewing instructions might seem daunting, but after you hold the parts in your hands, the process is pretty easy!

I had to wait a couple of weeks, since the shop was backed up, but it was worth the wait. Their locking mechanism is rock solid and looks completely clean from the outside.

My only regret was that I used the Harley signal relocation kit and I think I should have gone with the Great Bike Gear version (provides more of a lay-down version for the lic. plate).

I'm glad I saved-up the $ and waited for these bags! I need to get off my *** a post some pics...

Beautiful bags. I was wondering if anyone could post an approximation of the expanded dimensions. Not looking for an exact just a rough idea.

I used the HD combo layback license plate plus turn signal relocation kit. I thought it came out great!

When you unzip the expansion gusset, you get roughly an additional 3 1/2". This increases the width at the side panels to roughly 8". Keep in mind, though, that this is a soft sided bag, so it will bulge out to much more than that when you stuff things into it.
