On a cruiser feeling counts. 6th gear on the Dyna works for me, others disagree with that too.
At 75 I'm doing about 4K rpm's, it's idling and its smooth as hell, and that leaves 5 to 6k left. Would 3700K really matter or would you even "feel" it?
Anyway who really worries about gas mileage with a high performance bike? Wrong bike if you do.

Default Agreed

The 30-35mpg didnt bother me. The 75 miles between fill ups did. Especially when you don't know where the next gas station is. Repeat. I did love the bikes handling, comfort, power and looks. Didnt like the lack of aftermarket either.

Later bikes have a 5+ GL. tank, I get 155 to 160 miles or so between fill-ups. However even the smaller 3.3 Gl. tanks should yield about 100 miles.

I guess that's the problem trying to hide the tank under the seat.

They look like a total kick in the *** to ride. If I wasn’t so damn big, I’d love to have one.

They are a blast to ride. Quite a contrast to my Ultra or Softail. Funny story: when my son went to the dealership to test ride the V-Rod, he discovered that when switching from SC to NJ license, DMV had failed to carry over his MC endorsement. Unfortunately , I had to do the test ride. I brought it to an industrial park and put it through it's paces. When I really got on the throttle, it had a dramatic sputter/surge. I rode back and told both my son and dealer the bike had something seriously wrong with it. Turns out, the gas was so low that the centrifugal force on hard acceleration pinned the tiny amount of fuel to the rear of the tank and starved the engine. Added a gallon of gas, took it back out and set my hair on fire! Even did a quick 2-up with my son on the back. My son bought the bike.

Big? Hell, I never considered it's size big or small or whatever but it's just average cruiser size in my book.

It's impossible to describe with words and even a test ride falls short. The bike and rider need a few weeks before you really figure it out. It's too bad most shunned it, they really missed out. So many spend so much money on go fast goodies for their Evo's/TC and 126 HP / 11 second off the floor was staring them in the face.
