v-rod oil change video
Hey all,
Adrian here. I briefly worked for Harley-Davidson Canada. Always been a huge V-Rod fan. Picked one up about a year ago. Decided to change the oil this year. Loaded some oil change "how to" videos on youtube, opened up my service manual, and that's when it hit me: The videos on youtube weren't really following what was in the service manual, nor were they sharing all of the information in there. One video after another, a lot of glossing over important stuff like the correct torque specs for your drain bolt or how to install the filter correctly (not too loose, not too tight).
So I decided to create my own how to video for making oil changes on the v-rod:
I have instant email notifications on for this thread so if you guys have any questions or comments just leave me a blurb here and I can help you out, usually right away. Cheers all, ride safe.

Close, with the exception that the V-Rod does not use a Sealing Washer (RING) Read the manual.
There was also a bulletin that came out way back that the standard oil fill for all V-Rods after draining oil and filter went from 4.5 qts to 5 qts even. oil level is also suppose to be checked at operating temperature, which can be achieved by letting bike idle and waiting for cooling fans to cycle twice. It can show a difference of up to 1/2 half a quart. between cold check and hot check.
