Long story short, my wife has a HD 3/4 helmet with flip down face shield. We bought it about 8 years ago from Winchester HD on our way home form Nashville. She lost the shield dial (screw, plastic) that holds the shield to the helmet. Popped off at highway speed never to be seen again. Went to local dealership, way out of stock and the MoCo had no replacement parts. Also apparently KBC went out of business. So I am looking for a vendor or Forum member that might have some replacement parts, she loves this helmet and I would hate to have to get a new one for a plastic part. The rest of it is in great condition. Here are the specifics:

Woman's Helmet # 98239-08VW 3/4 Skyline Black
KBC is manufacturer

NEED:
Sun Shield Dial
Stock face shield, clear

Face shield is optional, her's is scratched up but usable. The dial is the black plastic screw that acts as the pivot for the face shield and holds it to the helmet. I found some KBC websites for parts but no luck on finding the parts I need for this model. I would also be willing to buy an entire used helmet with the parts if the price was on the cheap (damaged or whatever).

I can only suggest you search e-bay and see if you can pick up one there. I have owned two KBC helmets and really liked them, pity they're not still in business...b.

 

on a different note, 8 years is a long time for a helmet. for good solid protection, you may think about looking for a new one. lots of new features in the last 8 years.

 

Been looking on the Bay, will continue to do so but so far a whole lot of nothing.

As far as the age of the helmet, I really don't want to get into that debate.

If the helmet is 8 years old, it needs to be replaced. I'd be surprised if you can buy any replacement parts for a helmet that old, unless the helmet is still being produced. Most helmet manufacturers change their designs every few years.
