WTB - Tourpak Brakelight template 67800093
 

I believe there’s a template making the rounds where somebody initially removed the lens, LEDs, and electrical components and all that is remaining is the black base of an OEM TP brake light.

This base is used to precisely mark the TP so you can drill and cut the holes to install the brakelight on the Tourpak.

Yeah they don’t come with a template. You got to make your own with either paper or paperboard, but I know I will mess it up, so want to go this route.

I’ll buy it, use it, then sell it so somebody can use it to do the same thing.

FYI, the kit you had on the link is for the smoke lens version.

EDIT: Now that I looked at one on ebay...I wonder if all you have to do is remove the screws from the base to separate the lens and leds from the base.

I've been looking as well and put the same request out about a month ago. Found the last 2 owners through old posts but don't know who currently has it and no one has responded. I did paper on my last one and it worked well, but was nervous as hell. Would much rather have a solid template.

I don't think you can just disassemble and use a good light then put it back together, but I never tried it to be honest. Will feel really stupid if that works. My next option is trying a bike salvage yard.

A forum member posted in another thread (link below) that you have to put the brake light in the oven to soften the adhesive between the lens and the base so you can separate it.

Too much trouble for what it’s worth I say. Knowing me, I’ll leave it in the oven too long and warp the entire thing, or brake the base in pieces trying to separate it and who knows if it will function properly once it is back together again.

I purchased a template from another member last month and used it to install a tourpak light on my 2014 Harley tourpak. that would be cool, and no time like the present. I just got all the parts to install the brake light. and would be great to get this before my big road trip in the end of May.
