I wanted to learn about motorcycle repair, especially Harley Davidson. I would say I have basic skills. I can change the fluids, air cleaner, add external components/upgrades...
I can also identify most of the components on the motorcycles and have a rudimentary knowledge of how they work. I bought a 2002 FLHR. It was sold as a "Mechanic Special" and i paid a junk price for it. I bought it with the understanding it might be a complete rebuild. It is not stock but the frame and motor match SN's. The Road King connected me with this forum.
I also have newer street glide so i have a running bike i won't mess with for now as it still has a factory warranty (maybe the Federal Action of last week will change that too).
I will have a lot of questions as I move forward. Is it better to make a new thread as i move through each system, or just start one thread for this "mechanic special"
Hi B-Mech, GOOD to have u here with us mate. Our techies are GREAT!!!!
Feel free to use our "Search" feature. If u find what u need, then GREAT. If not, look in the forum and see and see if the topic already exists. I know it can be daunting.
But do not worry, start a NEW thread as you deem necessary.
Items you have questions about may already exist. So do look around. But do not get frustrated. If you cannot find what you want in a reasonable amount of time, then just start a new thread.
Make sure it is not about what kind of oil to use or would you put your gas cap for the guys will rain down hill on you because those questions are asked like 5000 times every minute. LOL
No worries my friend, enjoy the website! We are here for you .Well, pretty much. LOL
