New to Harley's and bikes in general

Hey

I'm loving the look and sound of the Sportster 48, but worried it's a too expensive for what it is, and i'll soon get bored of it. I live in Switzerland and would like to ride around the mountains. I know the peanut tank is tiny so it might be an issue. I'm also only 3 hours from Italy and I love the roads down there. Is the Sportster a bad for a first bike with my ambitions of riding for a few hours here and there?

One option would be to change the tank, which I wouldn't mind doing. I love the way it looks and when I sat on it it felt great. I'm 5.8ft so perfect for me.

Maybe you guys/girls have a similar issue. :-) I want to order mine now to be ready for Feb/March 2012. Not sure Black or Silver.

Be good to hear your thoughts.

Welcome to the forum from ND. I like the look of the 48 as well, but with that tiny tank your trips are going to be pretty limited. It would not be much of a tourer. The Nightster may be a better choice, if you like that look but want more travel disatance.

Hey thanks for the reply.

Yeah I do like that to but I think i've fallen in love with the 48 :-)

I've been watching some videos online, and changing the fuel tank doesn't seem like such a nightmare. I wouldn't do it straight away but it gives me the option I guess.

Thanks
