Question tire ???

2005 ultra
running Dunlop 402 mt90b16 front is still at 4/32nd (new is 5/32nd)
rear mu85b16 needs changing it is also 4/32nd new is 11/32nd)

want to try the commander ii ,will it be ok to run the new rear with the old front to wear it out and then next change but two that match (comm II)

some say not to others say it is ok since they are different axles, sound ok to me.

also some feed back on the comm ii tires ,, milage ,,handeling , wet , dry, cornering, ETC...

or should I just stay with the dunny's?? got good milage out of them , just want to try the commander ii's

thanks Mike

It is usually OK to mix tyres, although there are some who say not to. In half a million miles (not all on the same bike!) I have only found the bike uneasy when I have done it. If you find that then simply change the other tyre sooner than planned.

Not a Tourer, but I ran a II with a 'Lop front til it cracked. No real handling issues, but I was amazed at the difference when I installed the II up front. And I was a 'how much difference can a tire make" kinda guy. Night and day.

if you are getting good wear and are happy with performance stick with what you got. changing to some other tire could turn out to be a $600 experiment. Advice you get on a forum is subjective at best, no science behind it, too many variables. Mixing tires is not an issue either another personal preference thing.
