Default Long life touring tire?

I have a Michelin Commander II on now, have about 25K on the tire, it's down to wear bars. Looking for a replacement, is there anything better out there, other than going to the darkside?

My bike is a 13 EG Ultra Limited, 90% of the riding is me solo.

25K on a motorcycle tire and you're looking for something better?

Really?

Yep ... I've been on two wheels for longer than many here have been on this earth. 25,000 on a tire is "unexpected" to say the least.

I took my 15 Ultra Low in for its 20K service last week, the wear bars were not indicating on the stock Dunlop, since I was putting it up for the season I had them change out both front and rear so I will have fresh rubber in the spring. The service manager I talked to said the new Dunlop's are seeing higher milage before change is necessary, at least that is what I have experienced.

I know tire tech on motorcycles has come a long way in the last couple of years. I will probably just get another Commander II.

Cool

I wouldn't want any tyre that lasts that long, so even longer......

Why? I want my tires to last more than a year.

There is more to tyres than how many miles they do, like ride comfort and grip in all weathers. Long mileage tyres tend to be very stiff and give less than optimum grip. Changing tyres doesn't take long......

I get half of what you get on the rear Commander II tires and I am happy with that. If I got 25K out of any motorcycle I'd be ecstatic.
