Default 23 on a 99 FLHT?

Just a quick question and I don't want to start a debate whether or not someone would do it etc., but...

Will a 23" x 3.5 front wheel for a '00 model or newer, work on a 99 if one changes the bearing/axle?

They're not easy to find for a 99 unless someone has suggestions...

Thanks in advance!

Your bike has tapered roller 3/4" ID wheel bearings, whereas later models have 1" ID sealed ball bearings. The later wheels also have a larger bearing housing, so your rotors won't swap straight over. There are adapters available, but frankly I wouldn't use them for such a critical application. It is possible to adapt such a wheel, but there isn't a simple magic formula!
