Question Metzeler Tires

Howdy, ALL....
I have a 2011 FLHRC...bought used in 2014 with 7664 miles. I have 46K (approximate) miles on it now (7/20/2017). That's a total of 38,336+/-. I have replaced the tires with Dunlap American Elite's twice. I decided to switch to Metzeler 888 Ultra Marathons just to see if there is a difference.

I have been pleased with Dunlaps and the wear has been uniform and ride smooth.

The question i pose to you all is: Did I make a grave mistake? I read the reviews and the lowest rating has been 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I switched from Michelin Commander IIs to Metzeler 888s last fall. So far I'm happy with them.

local indie Harley mechanic has seen too many Metzeler rear tires with the tread separating/peeling for me to ever want to put them on my bike.

I've been running 880's then 888's for a long time. Never a problem with them, really good handling, and good mileage. But I have gotten only 4K out of a rear on a built up bike and me aggressive on the throttle. YMMV.

I have them on my bike and like them. They handle well on the road.

wow, I never heard of them separating, could of been a bad tire ordered off the INTERNET, thats why I would never order tires from internet, but can anyone compare the handling of the 880's to the newer 888's?
