Has anyone experienced this on the tread of the rear tire? Searching the web I've seen issues with sidewalks but not tread. Tire manuf date is 2014 so it's a few years old but nothing crazy. Set at 40psi cold. 2011 SG CVO. I ride the bike hard but wouldn't expect this to happen.

 

We would be a little leery of that ...especially at any high speeds ...may want to contact Dunlop USA , forward the pictures ...they may issue you a replacement and you should press the issue of wanting to return it for their evaluation...

 

Yeah that tire would be coming off mine.

 

KNanthrup, I just noticed cracks similar to yours on my back tire. I was at the dealer yesterday, in my car, and they said it might be covered under a warranty. He talked like it's a known issue, said I would need to bring the bike in for them to look at. Did you ever get yours taken care of?

Searched the forums and came across this thread.
I've had the same issue with a Dunlop 407T.
Replaced the tire and wondered if anyone else has seen similar failures or had the same issues.
