Default 18" avon tire ?

Hi, have a 99 heritage with 18" custom wheels with 120/90/18 front tire and 150/70/18 on the rear, looking at the av 26 but they only list the 120/90/18 as a rear tire and the av71/72 model is a lot higher priced. any help would be great

The Avon website I'm looking at shows the AV26 Roadriders available in both those sizes, but doesn't describe either of them as 'front' or 'rear'. Might be worth contacting them direct and asking them for clarification.

On the US site, the AM26 120/90/18 is specified as a REAR (as the OP stated).

You could run a REAR tire up front in the reverse direction as Avon references in their TECH publication, but your load ratings on both front and rear AM26 are lower than you might want to run and with probably less mileage.

You might want of just "bite the bullet" and get the AV71/72 Cobras for their higher Load rating and will probably will get more mileage out of them.

Thumbs up

Cobras are certainly the more suitable tyre.

I just bought a 2004 Heritage with an 18" rear wheel with a 150/70-18 Avon Venom mounted on it. It is currently rubbing on the inside of the fender at the fender mount location. It is pretty worn so I am switching to the 140/70-18 which is 3/8" narrower in hopes that it will eliminate the rubbing. However, another issue I have is that the rear tire is closer to the left side of the fender than the right by about 1/4". I am trying to figure out how to get the tire in the center of the fender. I just though this issue might help you with your decisions in some way.
