Default Chinese wheels?!!

Long story short. My Bud buys a 21" Reinforcer from Sport Chrome in Cali. A post goes up on another forum describing problems of all sorts with the same wheel. Guy claims the wheel is China made and believes that to be the root of the problems.

My bud calls Sport Chrome to make inquiries before installing his. They assure him that the wheel is high quality and not to worry.

Sport Chrome does tell him however, that his wheel is made in either Italy or China... in one of the two very same factories that produce wheels for Harley Davidson itself.

I am taken back that my sweet new FLTRXS might be riding on Chinese rims, so I start looking around on the web. The only things I can find indicate that Harley has their wheels made in Australia... but what do I know.

I'm hoping that someone here may be able to shed some light on the subject. Thanks much!

HD stopped getting their wheels from Australia a while back. I can't say where yours are made.

Btw... To anyone doing a tire and/or rim change on a later model Glide... much appreciated if You could check for a Country of manufacture stamp on the wheel, Please. Mine's not gonna need rubber for a while yet...

I have to ask..If you aren't having an issue with your bike or your wheels, what does it matter where they were made?

We all know tons of parts on HD's and any car or truck are made out of the country

What kind of problems is your friend I end having that you suspect ar due to them being Chinese wheels?

But, yes, I know the Triglide rear wheels are made in China. They are stamped inside. They are cast, and have a few small pits, that showed up when they were chromed. Not sure about the front wheel.
