Hey. New to the forum and I was looking for some help with a question I have. I have a 2006 sportster 1200 custom and Id like to switch up the stock wheels. I'm not particularly fond of the bigger more narrow 19 inch front or the rear mag that comes stock with the bike, I like the wheels on the 06 sportster xl50. Its got the spoked rear and a wider smaller ( I think) front wheel. I was wondering if these were cross compatible? Do they have a similar axle diameter? If not are there other models I could possibly swap with? Thanks for your time and look forward to hearing from the community.

 

you're pretty safe with 200- 07 softail an dyna wheels. you probably have 1/2" axles...you can swap the 1" out for 1/2" or use the 1" to 1/2" reducers. you can use older but the centering hole for the rotors an pulley are dif diameters...not a big deal but something to keep in mind.

 

I don't know of any Harleys with 1/2" axles! If you are able to swap to a set of wheels from the same model year they should swap over easily IMHO.
