Default Mixing Radial and Bias

If you talk to 10 people, 5 will tell you it's ok to run a bias ply in front and Radial in the rear. The other 5 will tell you don't do it because bad things will happen. I need new tires but don't want the OEM crap.

What's the consensus.

Done it many times, never noticed any ill effects...maybe on a GP race bike but on a touring bike nah. The way they cross ply the bias ply nowadays, it reacts almost like a radial. A tire rep told me this I didn’t make the **** up...
I forget which model but one model came with mixed set brand new from MOCO

I put a deuce rear on my 94 softail an a 21" up front an ran a radial rear an bias front...I never noticed anything scary other than that thin tire wanting to follow every groove in the pavement it touched.

Here is the view of Avon, taken from their website:

"Can I mix tyre construction front to rear?

Yes, but only to the combinations below:-
Front - Rear
Radial - Radial
Bias - Radial
X-ply - Radial
Bias - Bias
X-ply - Bias
X-ply - X-ply
"

The only mix I've used is bias front, radial rear, Cobra/Storm, on my Glide.
