Default Does this 19" laced profile rim need straightening?

I'm relacing my FXDC 19" laced profile wheel. Once I had the rim off, I ran feeler guages around the rim while it was against thick glass. I found the values shown in the attached image. At two points about 90deg apart on one side, there is about a .008" gap off the glass. Half way between them, the gap is .013". On the other side of the rim, at about 180deg from one of the previous .008" measurements, there is also a .008" gap.

I had a pretty good wobble and a bent spoke before I unlaced the rim. Are these measurements acceptable, or do I need to have the rim straightened before I relace it?

Many thanks!
John

if you follow the hd book, you will be fine, it is not rocket science. it works best with two dial indicators and make small adjustments. after in spec, go around the rim 1/4 turn each till they all ring, no thuds. remember, some rims have offset on the hub (hub not center), do that first. use a spoke wrench as they are wider and less prone to damage the nipples.

i have a stand now but before, i used a large vise and axle all thread with pvc bushings to lock the bearing inner races.

It isn't as easy as it looks and it's very easy to get wrong, suggest for a first timer you pay somebody and con them into letting you watch for the educational part. Once you have an idea and seen it done right then try it yourself.

This has been a nagging question for me. Thanks so much for sharing this data. Before I removed the wheel, when I took my hands off the handlebars, my bike would not track straight. It would wander off to the right. I'm betting the offset was wrong.
