My First Nail in Rear Ever, I know lucky
First nail ever.....
Go out this morning, bike a bit hard to roll out of garage, check, tire is low in the rear. I haven't been on it since last week. This is a new Dunlop American Elite. Nail is almost dead centre in the meat of the tire. So, I'm thinking now, just put a tube in it. Called local dealer, they won't do it. Are these tire repair kits sufficient to use, or should i just put on a new tire, this damn thing has 1000 miles on it, bit pissed, but it showed up in the garage, which, I guess I'm lucky. You thoughts thanks.

Put new tires on my bike at the beginning of the season. Of course 200 miles later a caught a piece of barbed wire that just punctured just enough right between the treads. I pulled it out and used a plug...one of those good mushroom looking things. 4000 miles later I'm still alive and I've had to add a few pounds of air twice in thst time period. Couple of things to consider...do ride local or out in the middle of deserted areas? Do ride 2 up all the time with the bike loaded to max capacity? Depending on how you use the bike may dictate whether you replace it or not. I've done plugs a coupe times in different bikes and never had any problems.
