Wheel dilemma...
#2
There are a number of challenges in doing something like that! A 2008 FB rear wheel and tyre is too wide to fit your frame IMHO, without changes such as a new wider swingarm. In addition your bike has 3/4" tapered roller bearings in the wheels, but the 2008 wheel has 25mm bearings, so the axles are different in diameter, although adapters are available, I understand. The bearing housings on the 2008 wheel are larger in diameter, so your current brake rotor and pulley will not fit, although they could be machined to fit. A 2008 rotor is larger in OD, but again could be machined, however a stock later pulley is not available in the same belt width, although you could change the belt. So can it be made to work, yes - but will it bolt in, no!

There are several things to consider, bearing in mind I run a wider than stock rear wheel in my old Glide. The stock rear fender is quite narrow and my 4.5" rim with 160/70 tyre fits - just! Any wider and it simply won't fit inside a stock fender. I only got my wheel in by using a later spec narrow drive belt, so with a stock width 1 1/2" belt there is very little scope to go wider. In addition the current rear pulley is very close to the swingarm, so once again very little scope to go wider. To use a 6" wide rim will IMHO require a wider swingarm, wheel with offset rim, wider fender etc. There are kits around to do such things, which it is worth investigating, if only to see out how they work. I'm sure it can be done, so best of luck!

You can fit a 150/80 tyre on a stock Harley 16" x 3" wheel, like your current rear, so no need to swap wheels, unless you want a change of style. Rolling diameter will be the same, however you may have to swap to a narrower belt, which will also require a matching pulley. Been there and done that!
