Tire Valve Question

Tire Valve Question
I have spoke wheels on my Street Bob with a tire valve that comes straight out of the rim between the spokes. It is very difficult to use an air gauge to monitor tire pressure and an air hose to adjust tire pressure. I acquired an angle attachment that screws onto the tire valve but it cannot be permanent. Does anyone know of an angle adapter that does not have to be temoved? The front wheel is not a problem, only the rear wheel.

go to a auto parts store and buy what you need, the make them. mark your tire and rim and try first to remove and install new without breaking both beads. if the side wall does not allow, probably will have to demount tire, you could try using a clamp to collapse the tire first or just remove one bead and the tire will drop down.

I too, have spoke wheels and straight valve stems on my street bob. I do lots of tire changes and valve stem swap-outs on plenty of tubeless MC rims as well. I love the metal angled valve stems that work with any tubeless setup because of both strength and ease of access.
The problem you're describing is one that I've only found one permanent solution to, and that is to replace the inner tube with a bent-stem one at your next tire change.
It is because the valve stem is integrated into the tube that make a simple valve stem change not really practical (yes, some tubeless/spoke combinations exist) for a spoke wheel with tubes.
This is my plan at the next tire change, but I'm curious if there are any other answers out there as well...
All the best,
Shane

bustert, your advice would work with tubeless tires but both wheels have tubes in the tires. The adapters you suggest will not work with tubes.
Shane, never thought of that solution when tires were changed about 18 months ago. Will have to wait and use your suggestion at next tire change. Unless I get so frustrated I just decide to change the tubes!
Thank you both for replying!

Why screw with the valve stems? I'm a firm believer in plain ole straight tried and true valve stems. Get a right angle tire gauge and air chuck.
These are what I use:

I don't have spoke wheels so I'm not sure this will help but it sure makes it easier for me to check / air up my rear tire on my RGU.

OP I have spokes on my FLHTCU and while it is a major pain in the posterior to check pressure I've found that this flexible extension makes the task much easier ... I have more than a few air chuck heads, gauges etc ( some of the one s previously listed in this thread ) and the flexible hose sure ( for me ) beats all the others.
