I have a 2012 streetbob with spoked rimss. I hit a crator of a pothole on our great ny roads. There is a slight bend in the rim. Can this by fixed or am i doomed to buy a new rim?

 

you can get the outer rim part an have it installed on your spokes an hub. I hear bike shops can do it, it's the same design an principle just a lot heavier duty....an bike shops generally charge a lot less.

 

try an automotive rim shop. some rims are repairable but on a case by case thingy. sometimes they can roll the damage out.
sometimes, it is better just to get another one, cost wise if you cannot do the work yourself. internet and boneyards.

 

 

Search Jireh Cycle in the dyna section....this is perfect time to relace your rim to a 21”. They only come chrome so you will have to powder coat it, but stock spokes can be relaced no prob. Search forum and you will get what info you need.

 

I also have a 2012 Street Bob,and a bent front rim. I am sending my hub to Woodys Wheels in CO. and replacing with an aluminum Sun rim. Its a little more expensive than the stock replacement and takes a little longer, But I believe it will be much better quality, and lighter.
