Heritage softail wheels
I own a 2006 heritage softail the wheels were changed prior to the original owner purchasing the bike new from Harley the wheels are Harley wheels the work was done by the dealer. rather than the raised squared off area where the spoke nipples reside these rims are tapered upward to the spoke nipples. i have never seen these on any other harley. my front wheel is damaged the chrome is lifting i picked up a set of these same wheels off an 09 bike the owner changed wheels on and had these sitting so i picked them up. they required a bigger axle approx 1" so i ordered the appropriate bearings to fit my 06 bike. are there any issues i should be aware of? the wheel is the same width but the hub was designed for double disks i of course only have one on the heritage. anyone have any tips im going to pull it apart this weekend swap the bearings and see how it lines up. Im shooting my best shot here i am not really experienced with alll mechanical aspects of the HD's ive only owned around 8 of them four sportsters a buell an xr1200 a dyna and the heritage. this is my first really big hd. i dont know any other owners who are well versed on HD mechanical issues. my mechanical experience is basiclly with japanese sport and dirt bikes bmws and ktm. I know theres a name for these wheels but i cant remember it.

They are called "Profile" Rims
Yes, there will be some "obstacles" ...
You mention that they are 09 wheels and a Dual Disc Front ... If they are Dual Disc, then I suspect you really have "Touring" Wheel(s) and they won't work correctly ... Rotor and wheel "spacing" wise.
Also the 09 wheels (whether it be the Touring or Real Softail wheels) have different bearing depths set-up for the thinner (25mm ID) bearings ... your 06 bearings are wider and will protrude from the Hub
If you can post some pics of the wheels, I can probably confirm

well i discovered an independent shop a couple miles from home stopped in and spoke with the owner so im having him relace my current hub into the wheel i had. evindently the wheels are known a smoothies? so ive got the rear wheel listed on cl and will attempt to sell the hub too. so ill be back riding with a good looking front wheel. this was the one flaw in the bike considering its an
2006. everything else as been cleaned up so its a pretty good looking old bike.

well from what i have gleaned so far the forks on the newer bike are different they also use a thicker axle not a problem i got the correct bearings but from what ive been shown the hub is also wider so the rotor would not line up with the caliper? so im having the wheel laced up into my existing hub. which kind of sucks because i was thinking of adding another rotor and caliper oce i found the appropriate lower fork leg and end up with dual disks. but if i keep the bike im going to add a performance machine caliper to make it stop a little better. i may be selling it im up in the air right now. i kind d of got into the xr1200 thing and may pickup a second one to mess with the heritage is about done and working really nice. i cant get real comfortable with the foot boards i may get another dyna it kind of depends on what i find that catches my interest if i dont grab the second xr. im really mor einto modding bikes mildly to make them work and look better then moving on to another bike. ive had the heritage a couple years or so.

Thanks...yes they sure look like they do, although in my case (switchback trees) 41mm tubes and lower Roadking shaved lowers...the touring wheel should work, just have to get my spacers correct....as well as the brake side...but if all else fails I will just have this rim laced to my old hub and go from there...
The bike its going on....
