Default What is the differnence between 07 and 08/09 FLSTF Wheels

I have a 2007 FLSTF Fat Boy and want to buy chrome oem wheels or some nice aftermartket wheels. I have noticed that the 07 wheels have different part numbers than any other year even the 08/09 which have the same wheel and tire size from what I can tell. Is it the spacing or axle size that is different? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 07 has a different offset than the 08/09 models.

At least on the touring bikes:
front axle
00-07 1 in
08+ 25 mm

I would suspect the same for your bike but check with dealer

Didn't they go to a 17" wheel in '08 from a 16" prior to that?

The difference is the offset of the wheel. In both 2007 and 2008 the fatboys come with a 17 x 3.5" wheels and a 25mm axles. If you look at the front end of some 2007 Fatboys the front wheel is not centered very well within the front forks whereas in 2008 they centered them better. You should only put on a wheel that was designed for the 2007 Fatboys because then your wheel will be located in the same spot it is now.

Hey fellas'

I just put a JayBrake 200mm 17" wide tire kit on my 2004 Fatboy. I would like to put a 17" wheel on the front.
What mods would I need to do for the install using as many stock parts as possible, including the fender?

Thanks,
Rayzor
