Tire wear on EG + side car
Go down the "time for a sidecar" train of though every few years with the wife. We have cycled back around to it and I was curious about tire wear issues.
Knowing guys who have ran side cars I have heard that the front tire wears faster. I've also seen and heard people talking about longer wearing square profile tires on the front but with the theoretical problem of catching pavement imperfections causing jerky rides. I haven't heard or seen anyone saying that they have actually experienced that.
Just wanted to see if anyone has a sidecar and running something other than stock round profile tires and what real life experiences have been.
Thanks.

The only sidecar outfit I have owned was a very old one, umpteen years ago, so I can't claim much experience. However I have plenty of friends who do or have owned them. They are heavy on everything, thanks to the extra weight, so brakes, tyres, clutch, etc will all have shorter lives than with a solo. There is an HDF sidecar section, where you may meet up with other members/owners, but also the USA - United Sidecar Association, who may be worth contacting or even joining. They even have a forum!
