Hello, have a question about wheel sizes to fit my 06' Fatboy. Before I just go out and spend a fortune. I've seen it on many Fatboys but is it just an easy swap or any modifications needed to accomplish this fit. I have 16 in. wheels on the front as well as the rear on my Fatboy stock. I want to change the whole setup to 18 in. wheels and tires. I want to go with 18 x 3.5 in the front and 18 x 4.5 in the rear with low profile tires. Is this possible to do without any mods? Will it effect the stock brake calipers, rotors and pulley? Thank you for your time and any advice will be very much appreciated... Ray...

 

You'll get a better response over in the Softail forum. Harleys use heavy duty tyres, with higher load ratings than most bikes that use low profile sizes, so you should check your preferred tyre brand. As a tip there are suitable tyres readily available for 17 x 4.5 rears, 160/70, used on Deuces.

You should be able to put an 18 x 3.5 front wheel without any problems but the maximum rim size you can go on your rear without any modifications is a 18 x 4.25. We offer wheels that you may be interested in and recommend Metzeler or Avon tires.
