During the Great Depression, Harley-Davidson introduced a new ride in order to increase sales and its footprint. The Servi-Car made its mark in America from 1932-1975, originally as a utility vehicle for the automotive service industry.

1. The Original Trike

You may refer to a three-wheeled motorcycle as a "trike," but originally the H-D Servi-car was a very practical tool used by the automotive service industry.

2. Servi-Police

It did not take long before the original Servi-Cars got noticed by our boys in blue. The Police quickly adopted these versatile rides in their regular patrol lineup. Some police departments were still using the Servi-Cars up into the 1990s.

Certainly, our armed forces would find good use for the versatile Servi-Car. Harley-Davidson supplied a great many motorcycles to the military from WWI, and continues to do so today.

Civilians got in on the action as well when they found that the Servi-Car was quite an economical way to bring products and services to customers who would not or could not otherwise get to the store.
