Bizarre Other Uses for Harley-Davidson V-twin Powerplants

1. Hot-Rod

The sound of a Harley-Davidson could only be imitated by only a handful of machines, like a Hot Rod Roadster. However, this Hot Rod may sound like a HD because it's equipped with a 1,200cc engine that once belonged to a Sportster. This is a 3/4 scale of a 1932 Ford Roadster, and it has been described as a Sportster with four-wheels.

2. Toyota Prius

This Toyota Prius may not qualify as a hybrid anymore, but it's a Prius nonetheless. Built by the Hell's Treehuggers, this Prius is equipped with a Harley-Davidson engine and it raced on the infamous 24-Hours of Lemons. On this Prius is a chain-driven 1,100cc Harley-Davidson Sportster engine, and the end result is simply... bizarre.

3. Boat

As if Harley-Davidson isn't dominant enough on land, now the engine is being used to dominate the waters. Martin Power Boats equipped one of their speed boats with a Harley-Davidson Evolution 88 cubic-inch engine. The team that built this unique project had to custom make a water cooling system, because the engine is not in the air. The result is a two-person speed boat with a 600-pound capacity, and it costs $29,995.

4. Airplane

Now that we've covered the land and the water, what else can Harley-Davidson dominate? Yes, this is a plane powered by a Harley-Davidson V-twin power plant engine. This plane is courtesy of Sky Ray, which is a company that builds conversion kits for small planes to accommodate a Harley-Davidson motor.

5. Super Car

Not only can a Harley-Davidson engine fit in a car, it can also turn it into a super car - with a help of another Harley-Davidson engine. This exotic car was built by Sundoulos to race against Dodge Vipers and Chevrolet Corvettes, and it is equipped with two Harley-Davidson engines. Cooling both air-cooled engines that are mounted in the rear wasn't an easy task, and eventually, he had to replace the two HD engines with an LS1 V-8 GM engine.
