Daily Slideshow: Uses for Harley-Davidson V-twin Powerplants
The machines in this slideshow were born out of creativity and a passion for all things Harley-Davidson. We're sure it also helped to have a spare engine lying around and some mechanical know-how.
1. Harley-Davidson Chainsaw
Ever feel like your chainsaw just isn't man enough to cut the timber you have in mind? Here is your answer. A few guys got together and used the 1337 cc V-Twin from a 1990 Harley Ultra to power their chainsaw. By the look of it, it's big enough and bad enough to take down anything you have in mind - that's what happens when you have 64 hp behind you. Check out the video.

2. Harley-Davidson Blender
Over the past few years, liquid breakfasts, lunches, and dinners have become all the rage. But, some people feel like these meals lack guts. Obliterating your food with a 1,340 cc Harley-Davidson 'EVO' powered blender is sure to knock some guts into your breakfast smoothie. You can watch your food go from solid to liquid as these guys work their way up the 6-speed gearbox. Check out the video.

3. Harley-Davidson Lawn Mower
The owner of Three Dogs Custom Cycles in Bakersfield, California, built this custom Harley-Davidson powered lawn mower. I guess this is what you do when you have a ton of Harley engines lying around. To be fair, it doesn't look like it would be much use on your lawn, it does, however, look like it could put down some serious laps at the track. Check out the video.

4. Harley-Davidson Snowmobile
We're used to seeing Harleys laying down black lines of rubber on the road, but the V-Twin powerplant seems equally at home laying down tracks in the crisp white snow. Bob Rynda put a 1996 Harley Twin Cam into a 1980 Scorpion snowmobile chassis and showed the world, that as long as a Harley engine is in the right chassis, it's a match for any terrain. Check out the video.

5. Harley-Davidson Street Roadseter Dragster
Some might think powering a car with a Harley V-Twin is sacrilegious but, to be fair, this thing looks like an animal. It probably doesn't have real dragster performance but, in a chassis that looks so light, we're pretty sure the 1,450 cc Harley Twin Cam means it still packs a punch. Possibly the best thing about this dragster is that it's completely road legal and, thanks to a hidden motorcycle seat, there's room for two. It was up for sale on eBay not too long ago, so keep an eye out if it takes your fancy.

6. Harley-Davidson Model T
We doubt Henry Ford could have envisioned this when he designed the Model T but we're glad someone did - it's got some serious menace to it. Powered by a Harley Sportster 1200 engine, this Model T has a top speed of around 80 mph. All the power goes through the Sportster's original transmission and an electric reverse gear has been installed. If you'd like a 1923 Model T with a bit more oomph, keep your eyes peeled as it has been up for sale in the past.

7. Harley-Davidson Q-tec Quad
This is one for all the ATV enthusiasts out there. Q-tec engineering, an automotive company based in Belgium, developed two wheel kits that fit both Sportsters and Softails. Since there are two wheel kits available, you can opt to put two wheels up front or at the back, creating a trike. Of course, you can get both wheel kits to make a quad. You assemble the kit yourself but, thankfully, there are no permanent changes to the motorcycle, meaning you can change back whenever you please. The kits also come with an electric reverse. Unfortunately, Q-tec quad kits aren't road legal in the USA, yet.

8. Harley-Davidson Airplane
As we've seen, Harley-Davidson engines have already conquered land and, now, they're taking to the skies. Sky Ray, previously known as Hog-Air, make conversion kits for small aircraft so they can use a Harley powerplant. They have two packages available. You can go for an 80 hp engine or a 100 hp engine, for those who want some more power. These packages cost between $8,550 - $9,750 but, if you already have your own engine, they provide a 'drop drive' service for $2,500. All engines are brand new and come with mounts, charging systems, exhausts, oil tanks etc.. Check out the video.
