Big Bike Status...

When someone thinks “Harley-Davidson motorcycles” the phrase carries with it the reputation of “big bike” status, and they have had that for generations past. In the old days, the rice-grinders were what most kids were buying: 350’s, 500’s and 750cc 4-stroke motorcycles. When crotch rockets were born, 2-stroke quickness off the line was desired by many, and these riders were interested in a smaller sleeker machine than a Road Glide – or even a Sportster. Today, Harley is making an effort to reach that group by offering a 500cc and a 750cc model that are lightweight and could be considered to be a scrambler.

The Salon Prive'

One of the top events on Europe’s social calendar is the Salon Prive’, considered an “elegance contest”, held in London, in Syon Park. Salon Privé is the most luxurious of garden parties set against the backdrop of ‘Britain’s Greatest Palace’, Blenheim Palace. Presenting the finest collection of Supercars, hypercars and classic cars along with a luxury retail village and exquisite cuisine - a truly unique experience.

Last year, motorcycles were admitted to the Salon Privé concourse for the first time.

Important Competition Machines Class

The “Important Competition Machines” class was taken out last year by this magnificent Harley-Davidson XR750TT. The bike is owned by Warr’s Harley-Davidson in London, England. This machine is 1 of 10 bikes which were racers straight from the factory in 1972. These babies are considered the top of the XR750 line.

Accessories of note are the Cerianai front forks, a 4-speed gearbox, twin carburetors and a double front brake.

Original Factory Specs

Warr’s Harley returned the bike to its original factory specifications after they were paraded on the US circuits, finishing it off in the colors of the legendary Harley factory rider Cal Rayborn.

Fate Can Be Amazing

Fate is an amazing thing sometimes. By fortune’s favor, Warr’s mechanic, Walt Faulk, was the very guy who tuned up the XR750TT back in the day for Cal Rayborn, that helped enable him to perform his awesome wins on circuits he had never previously raced on before. This baby may live across the pond now, but she’s in good hands.
