Peeking into the Future

We've seen some pretty amazing custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles over the years. But while these wild choppers and bobbers often come from U.S.-based shops, more and more countries are getting in on the custom bike scene. India, in particular, has a newfound fascination with all things Harley. And Jaipur-based Rajputana Customs is right at the forefront of that scene.

Building a Reputation

Their latest build, in fact, might just be their best. It's called "Jordaar Version 2." And, surprisingly enough, it's actually based on an Iron 883. But Rajputana has done so much work to this Sportster that you'd be hard-pressed to tell.

Minimalist Approach

The first thing you'll undoubtedly notice about the bike is its inherent lack of bodywork. Rajputana took a minimalist approach here, from the slim tank to the tiny, hidden headlight. Even the massive 11-spoke wheels were designed to take up as little real estate as possible.

Form over Function

And you can forget about taking the significant other along with you, as Jordaar only has a single seat. But who's going to complain about function taking precedence over form here? At least you've got big disc brakes at each end to slow you down.

Not Your Average Body

The coolest thing about Jordaar, by far, is its unique bodywork and paint. Some of the various body parts were reportedly imported from Damascus, the oldest city in the world. And on top of that, Rajputana used a South Asian detailing technique known as Koftgari. It involves using a pattern traced on steel that is then inlaid with gold for a truly unique look.

Evolution, Not Revolution

Another unique aspect about Jordaar is that it is actually an evolution from the original, which you might have already guessed by the "Version 2" part. Jordaar Version 2 isn't a radical departure from the original, but there are a few subtle visual differences that set them apart.

The Future Looks Bright

Judging by their incredible work so far, it's safe to include Rajputana in the discussion of the best custom Harley builders on the planet. This hobby of ours is clearly no longer confined to the borders of the U.S., that's for sure. And that's obviously a good thing. The more butts we can get in seats, the better off H-D is in the long run!
