Far from a newbie

Kaichiroh Kurosu runs Cherry's Company out of a shop in Tokyo and is one of Japan's elite builders due to this attention to detail and imagination. Kurosu has been working on Harley-Davidsons for over twenty years with a good mix of both classic and more modern machines. The edict for what was to be done with this bike came directly from H-D which commissioned five builders in Japan to take the Street and create something exciting.

Making magic

Cherry's got down to business and took the marching orders from H-D quite seriously as in they began to handcraft one-off parts that include a beautiful girder fork made up from CNC-machined aluminum mounts, and hand-bent carbon steel trusses. In fact, over 50% of the frame is now new. Taking a note from the girder front end there's an arcing trellised section that flows right into the custom swingarm.

Low and angrier

Cherry's version of the Street is a racier, aggressive stance that comes from Bespoke 17-inch wheels wrapped with Dunlop slicks. The turbo that was installed on the bike is supported by a custom made oil cooling system, intercooler, and air surge tank. Taking all that air out of the bike is a stainless steel exhaust system. After adding the boost to the bike Kurosu-san bestowed the moniker of XG750 Turbo Street Fighter.

That's pretty neat-o

The tail section, tank cover and belly pan are all hand shaped aluminum pieces. The shroud for the headlight is a custom piece also and has been upgraded with a halogen light and a modified bubble shield that functions as a fly screen.

Keeping up with Kurosu-san

Underneath the bike is an aluminum inner tank and an electrical system that has been done so nicely that any electrical engineer would be pleased with the craftsmanship. The abyss black comes from Nomad Concepts and the leatherwork comes from Skunk.
