1. Nation of Patriots

Nation of Patriots is a non-profit charitable organization that works coast to coast to help veterans.  Their all volunteer staff allows them to distribute more of the money they raise directly to soldiers and their families. With help from the VA health care system, they identify and directly donate money to families of veterans in need. One of the unique, and uniquely American, ways they raise the money is with an annual motorcycle tour.

2. The Patriot Tour

Each year the tour averages 14,500 miles and takes 110 days, which are spent going through all 48 contiguous states. So far, the Patriot Tour has traveled over 101,500 miles, raised approximately $452,600, and the money has helped over 245 veterans in need. 3. Tour Tradition

Each year, the Patriot Tour starts during Memorial Day weekend. One motorcycle flies a special American flag, and leads a large group of riders to the next of many destinations. Upon arrival to each destination, the flag is transferred to a new rider in the group. Once the tour arrives at the final destination at the starting line in Wisconsin 100+ days later, a huge crowd will be waiting to celebrate and honor the American veterans. Check out when the tour is heading your way HERE.

4. Bold Beginings

The first part of the tour kicked-off on May 27th, 2017 in Madison, WI. Shortly before departure, an opening ceremony took place in the parking lot of Harley-Davidson Madison, where throngs of people gathered around to wish the riders well and say bon voyage, as they rolled out for Wakon, Iowa, their first stop.

5. This Year's Tour

This year the tour is reversed from its normal route, heading from Wisconsin toward Iowa in May instead of August at the end of the tour. Over 150,000 bikers are set take part and ride at least a portion of the Patriot Tour across America in 2017, as they try to raise more than $200,000. The flag will continue to get passed from rider to rider from Memorial Day until Labor Day.
